The NI Curriculum
At The Diamond, learning is fun; exactly as it should be!
We offer a wide and varied curriculum. The NI curriculum is our reference for this and we ensure that the children's learning progresses appropriately as they make their way through school. Numeracy and literacy are of the utmost importance, but the children's skills in these areas are enhanced by a topic based approach to The World Around Us and a wide range of ICT resources. Through Art, Music, Religious Education, Physical Education, PDMU and Friday Clubs, we aim to promote good citizenship and help the children to explore and grow their talents and giftings. We believe it is crucial to meet the needs of every child, so 'differentiation' is a key word for us; we meet children exactly where they are and begin to challenge them from that point. All children at The Diamond have opportunities to achieve success every single day and they are well supported towards their targets.
Learning at The Diamond is a diverse and innovative experience. Through various initiatives, the children are challenged to think for themselves, push themselves to achieve, and understand their own ways of learning.
