Accelerated Reader is a wonderful programme which promotes independent reading and rewards children for demonstrating their understanding of books.

Picture
From P4-P7, we encourage children to read for pleasure on a daily basis. Our quiet reading time each day gives children the opportunity to do this for a short time in school. Accelerated Reader allows children to take online quizzes on the books they have read; once children have demonstrated their understanding of the book, they are awarded a score and points. These points can be exchanged for prizes a couple of times each term.

Children are really motivated to read books as a result of this programme in school. There are many different certificates and awards to be gained, as well as prizes from our cabinet. To read more about this fantastic scheme, click the link below. To go to the children's login page, visit 'Kids' Links'.
