Sport & Extra-Curricular Activities

Sporting Activities

 
The school participates in a number of inter-school sporting activities.
 
¨ The school Football Team competes regularly in the local Primary School 7-a-side League and Junior Cup Tournament. All boys from P5 upwards have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular football.
¨ The school Netball Team plays in tournaments and matches throughout the year.
¨ Hockey is also a feature of the school.  Opportunities are provided for girls from P5 upwards.
- Coaching For Christ attend school every week to teach football skills and co-ordination.

Friday Clubs
 
All pupils from P4-7 have the opportunity to participate in the following clubs on a rota basis:
E.g. Cookery, Dance and Drama, Scripture Union and Technology, First Aid and French.

Extra-Curricular Activities
 
Opportunities are provided on a weekly basis for hockey, netball, football, Scripture Union and choir.  P7 pupils are also given the opportunity to participate in the Cycling Proficiency Scheme.
 
Conservation
The school has a very proud history of conservation work.
¨ Following the creation of the Conservation Area in November 2006, the area was redeveloped in the 2009/2010 school year with raised beds.  Vegetables, fruit and herbs are grown which can be used in our cookery club!
¨ An Eco-committee is elected each year to include pupils, staff and governors.  The committee regularly plan environmental projects to benefit the school.
 
Competitions
 
The school believes that participation in external competitions assists in the delivery of significant aspects of the curriculum. They also provide a useful forum for meaningful community involvement.
 
Charities and Collections
 
Each year the children support charities through specific fundraising events or by regular contributions.
