At The Diamond, we value partnership and communication. Children will learn best when they are supported at home and when class learning is reinforced with parents. In school, we take our part in that very seriously and have adopted a system of communication called Seesaw which allows us to share your child's class work with you on a regular basis. Using an online application, we share work with lots of parents every day.
What is Seesaw?
Seesaw empowers students of any age to independently document what they are learning at school. Students capture learning with photos and videos of their work, or by adding digital creations. Everything gets organized in one place and is accessible to teachers from any device. Student work can be shared with classmates, parents, or published to a class blog. Seesaw gives students a real audience for their work and offers parents a personalized window into their child's learning. |
Our parents have really appreciated and enjoyed Seesaw. It has provided so many opportunities for parents to praise their children for their success during the school day and it is a wonderful platform to demonstrate progress made or how you can further support your child in their learning. The children in our school love it too! They are hugely motivated to work and achieve in the knowledge that their work will be shared with their most adoring audience! Receiving notifications on your phone, iPad or computer means instant communication - and the opportunity for children to receive praise from mum or dad during the school day!
Seesaw is helping us to further develop our ethos of family and teamwork - and is bringing the term 'partnership' to a whole new level.

We really enjoy using Seesaw because when we’ve done really good work, our mummy comments and tells us she’s really proud. She also encourages us to keep working really hard! This week we did a group activity about Vikings and trading and we were able to post our photo onto Seesaw, which was really cool! |
What I like about See Saw is that I can send some of my good or bad work to my Mum and Dad! They can like or comment on it and if there is something bad they can help us to improve it and if it is something good they can reward us! My Mum and Dad didn't know what IZAK9 was so the next time we did IZAK9 I asked my teacher could I take a picture of it to send to my Mum and Dad on Seesaw and when I got home, they knew all about it!

As a parent, I absolutely love Seesaw. It’s not only a great way for us to communicate with teachers but a fantastic way for our kids to showcase their work. The fact that it’s instant means I can see what they are doing in school while I’m at home and it gives me an opportunity to leave a message of encouragement which they can read straight away. I can’t recommend it enough!
